![]() The imported HID people (inexpensive) aren't held to a real strict standard for their advertisements on bulb color/temperatures. Personally, I would feel too guilty using a high watt HID like that in a Low beam halogen based housing light for the street, anyway. Maybe they are just so bright that you can't look at them long enough to see if they have a colour to them! :eek1 I have heard unsubstantiated speculation and talk that the newer higher wattage HID's, the 50w ones, are supposed to "wash out" a bit of the colour, meaning that a 6000K 55w light would have less blue/green in it than a 35w jobby, but I remain skeptical, myself. I have this in my Low beam, so I will try a 5000K sample, and if it's closer to pure white, I will simply swap the High and Low beam capsules. I really don't want blue/green in my light, I wanted as pure a white as I can get. ![]() The DDM in my BMW has got quite a noticeable bluish greenish hue to it. The Nova on my CBR is perfect, crisp, crystal white with the tiniest hint of blue, if one is so disposed to imagine there is. Made me sad ) Anyway, there is quite a difference in colour between the two 35w 6000K lights! The local shop I got it from said they no longer carried it. Recently, I put in a DDM 35 watt 6000K HID in my BMW (apparently the Nova brand is discontinued, or something. One of the best purchases I have ever made. I have loved it and have nothing but total awesomeness to describe it with, after all this time. Years ago, I put a 35 watt 6000K Nova brand HID in my CBR. ![]() I've discovered a lot can depend on the manufacturer, as far as actual final output, colour, and so on.
